Synopsis

When Pollyanna loses her beloved father, she seeks to adjust to her new life (and keep him close) by looking for things to be glad about- a game her father had invented. When her joyless Aunt Polly forbids the young girl from speaking of her father (and therefore the game), Pollyanna teaches everyone in town to play until only her aunt is left in the dark. Then a freak accident forces the young girl to mourn the loss of her father, her former life, and her freedom, and forces Aunt Polly to change in order to help the young girl find her spark again.
